Ridley Scott has just announced that the Alien Prequel will be coming out in 3-D. While it seems that more and more movies are simply using 3-D versions to sell more expensive tickets, I am genuinely excited about this. The Alien franchise seems like a perfect fit for using 3-D technology. Imagine a facehugger leaping out at your nose, or the Queen barreling full speed towards your seats. That is excitement right there. The Alien movies always have aliens leaping out of some dark corner, so this is a perfect way to make it that much more intense. The only question I have is how the story will work, as it will have to be self contained. I’m predicting there will either be no human survivors or the survivor will be cut off from everyone else, otherwise they could have warned others about the alien menace. Then again, a survivor could make it back to safety and simply not be believed by others. After all, nobody wanted to listen to Ripley when she warned them about those evil facehuggers. Let’s be honest though, we really just want to see a chestburster pop out of the screen at us.
